Celebrating Women’s History Month – Women in Propane: Kimberly Wayne

Meet our Area Sales and Business Development Manager, Kimberly Wayne who has been with Suburban Propane for 12 years. According to Kimberly, “No two days are ever the same. One day I can be in the office and the next day trekking through mud on a job site pursuing a sale with one of my Regional Sales Representatives. I get great satisfaction making a positive impact on the customers we serve and on my employees. I enjoy training and supporting my team to be their best. We are constantly trying to gain a greater market share in every segment, so we are always thinking of ways we can stand apart from the competition.”

Kimberly started college a little later than most at the age of 42 and after earning both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, she wanted a career that would enable her to grow professionally and to experience different opportunities. After a few months of looking for the right fit, she joined Suburban Propane in 2008 as a Manager in Development and then became a Customer Service Center Manager in our Exton, PA location. She then moved to a larger location in Greater Baltimore and managed a few other locations as needed. She also had the opportunity to be a Peer Mentor. “I have been fortunate to have a lot of people at Suburban Propane support me over the years, especially Chris Daly. He encouraged me to be my best, helped me learn from mistakes and offered me challenges along the way to grow professionally. My current role as the Area Sales and Business Development Manager provides me the opportunity to make an even greater impact by meeting new people, visiting our locations and working with my team.”

Kimberly has been in her current role for almost 2 ½ years and is proud to be part of a company that is constantly evolving and growing. The last few years have been especially rewarding for her being part of a team that continuously seeks to improve the customer experience while working together to be their personal best on any given day.

“I appreciate the opportunity Suburban Propane has given me and look forward to all that is to come.”
