Pahrump, Nevada Employees Volunteer to Support Local Residents
At Suburban Propane, our commitment to giving back across our nationwide footprint is well-rooted in the Company’s history spanning nearly a century and a fundamental facet of our philanthropic pillar and social impact initiatives – SuburbanCares. Through SuburbanCares efforts, we strive to create a positive impact on those who need it most – in the local communities where we operate.
Suburban Propane’s Pahrump, Nevada Customer Service Center joined forces with the Nevada Outreach Training Organization (NOTO) to host a volunteering event. This event focused on supporting individuals and families in our region who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness. NOTO, a local non-profit, serves over 3,000 unique individuals and families each year, including veterans, children, pregnant women, victims of house fires, domestic violence survivors, and many others who are navigating challenging circumstances.
Our employees generously contributed their time and energy to revitalize the backlot area which serves as a designated space for the collection and storage of donations, which are made available to individuals and families in need within the greater Pahrump area. Suburban Propane volunteers helped dismantle and dispose of damaged furniture donations, as well as to sort and organize usable clothing and household items.
“We are so grateful for the collaboration with Suburban Propane,” said Jessica McCutcheon, Executive Director, Nevada Outreach Training Organization. “Thanks to their support, we have been able to clean up our backlot area with all the clothing and furniture donations we receive throughout the year. This time spent by the Suburban volunteers contributed enough volunteer hours to help us meet our grant match needs. We are so thankful that Suburban Propane would take their time and volunteer to help us.”
Through SuburbanCares initiatives like this, Suburban Propane and our employees continue connecting with their community in meaningful ways, using their time and effort to support the needs of the residents who need it most. We are grateful our dedicated Pahrump employees volunteered and worked to create a positive impact within the local community.
