SuburbanCares 2024 Year in Review
As we step into 2025 with anticipation and hope, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the assortment of initiatives throughout the previous year. At Suburban Propane, 2024 was a year marked by our ongoing commitment to making a difference in the lives of those we serve, filled with meaningful connections and impactful collaborations through our SuburbanCares philanthropic endeavors.
Drawing on Suburban Propane’s almost 100-year legacy, the spirit of community and giving back has remained central to everything we do. Through SuburbanCares, we have continued to extend beyond financial donations, focusing on volunteerism and collaborations that address pressing local challenges. This collective effort fosters unity, resilience, and shared responsibility across the 42 states we serve.

Historic Tours of America • St. Augustine, FL • February 2024
Collaborated with Historic Tours of America and the Lincoln Museum and Cultural Center to support the LMCC’s mission of preserving, promoting, and sharing over 450 years of St. Augustine’s African American heritage through arts, educational programs, lectures, live performances, and exhibits. Keep Austin Fed • Austin, TX • March 2024
In Austin, 1 in 7 people don’t know where their next meal comes from, and 1 in 3 are children. To address this, volunteers teamed up with Keep Austin Fed to combat food insecurity across the Austin metro area. By organizing and redistributing surplus nutritious food, the initiative ensures individuals in need have access to healthy meals while promoting sustainability by reducing food waste. Crayons to Classrooms • Dayton, OH • March 2024
Partnered with Crayons to Classrooms to support their “Classroom Solutions” program, benefiting educators and students in the greater Dayton region. Through community donations, partnerships, and volunteerism, the organization distributed over $3.4 million worth of supplies to 2,214 teachers across 135 schools, with an average shopping visit valued at $769 ensures resources reach those who need them most and fosters an environment where every student can thrive. Anaheim Ducks Green Night • Anaheim, CA • April 2024
Suburban Propane powered the Zamboni® Ice Resurfacing Machine for the Anaheim Ducks during their Green Night. Additionally, we participated in green-themed activities, promoting sustainability while engaging with fans at the event. To learn more, visit Anaheim Ducks Green Night
Operation Adopt a Soldier • South Adirondack, NY • May 2024
Over 500 care packages filled with essential items such as snacks, games, and personal supplies were assembled. Each package included handwritten letters of encouragement and gratitude from Suburban Propane employees, offering comfort and a sense of home to deployed soldiers. Sharing House • Brevard, NC • September 2024
In Transylvania County, 45% of residents face unaffordable rent, and 35% are low-income, earning less than $55,500 for a family of four. We partnered with Sharing House for a local volunteering initiative to combat hunger and poverty affecting residents in the region. Habitat for Humanity • Washington, NJ • September 2024
Joined the Warren County Habitat for Humanity in a new construction project, supporting affordable housing initiatives in New Jersey. Collaborated with Nevada Outreach Training Organization (NOTO) to host a volunteering event to support individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Rutland Community Cupboard • Rutland, VT • October 2024
Partnered with the Rutland Community Cupboard to lend a hand in the fight against hunger. Local employees volunteered to unload, sort, and stock shelves with pallets of food and pantry items, ensuring the community cupboard was well-stocked and ready to serve those in need. With one in four people in Rutland County struggling with hunger, these efforts help ensure that no one goes without the nourishment they need.
